A Note to my Daughter

Our Beach trip did not turn out quite as expected. (Read more here) I was inspired to jot this note to my daughter as she slept and read it to her the next day. Remember, when the mom guilt sets in, you are one person. You are doing amazing things even if it doesn’t feel like it. Let your body heal and rest and give yourself love and grace while you fight this battle….

Dear sweet girl,

Thanks for being patient with me this trip.

Thank you for remembering that I don’t have the energy to do all the things I want to do with you.

Please know that I am so looking forward to the day we can play like you deserve.

Sometimes, too much noise bothers me and you let me have some space and quiet time.

I can’t always move the way I want and you’ve been my hands and legs.

I hope you know how much snuggles on the couch mean to me.

Thank you for letting me be the mom I am right now until I can be the mom I want to be.

I love you, mo chroí.

Love,

Mom
